As Client Director, Neal leads our Water Networks team with a focus on helping clients meet increased customer expectations and regulator requirements. Neal’s expertise in project, programme & innovation management, together with business & operating model design is enhanced by his passion of leadership excellence and coaching.
Neal has over 20 years’ experience in the UK’s water, utilities and construction industries. His career started with Yorkshire Water’s Graduate Scheme. After 6 varied years experiencing different operational elements of a water company, Neal moved into the water industry supply chain and has enjoyed senior roles with innovative equipment suppliers (Grundfos), contractors (Panton McLeod) and more recently in consultancy (Jacobs & Aqua Consultants) where he has led framework delivery and strategic projects for multiple major water companies.
Examples of Neal's experience:
- Spearheaded two successful re-platforming programmes, completing the largest customer migration of 8 million residential and small business customer accounts, onto one of the leading UK technical platforms from legacy systems npower and E.ON
- Led Growth at Aqua Consultants, including a tripling of revenue, and doubling of total number of clients & partners served during my 4-year tenure, all while increasing client satisfaction scores and moving from being acquired to acquiring others
- Played a leading role in the establishment of Northumbrian Water’s primary capital delivery mechanism for the next 5-10 years; the Living Water Enterprise. Having secured a place in the alliance, Neal led Aqua Consultants mobilisation as well as mobilisation of the Commercial Partners and setting of the culture and value for the Alliance. Neal continued to sit on the Advisory Board helping to drive the Alliance forward until departing that role
- Developed a UK-first innovative approach to asset inspection. While at Panton McLeod, Neal collaborated with Scottish Water, and innovative Australian inspection firm, Abyss Solutions, helped reolve an extremely complicated asset inspection of a critical water supply aqueduct using robotics and GPS technology
