Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

This reporting period establishes BFY Group's baseline greenhouse gas emissions footprint. As this is our first year of reporting, no year-on-year comparison is currently available.

BFY Group is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. We will measure and report our emissions annually, using this baseline to monitor progress and identify opportunities for further reductions.

We will continue to improve the quality and completeness of our emissions data, review our principal sources of emissions, and establish measurable interim reduction targets informed by future reporting.  Progress against these targets will be reviewed annually and reflected in subsequent Carbon Reduction Plans.  We aim to establish science-based emissions reduction targets by 2028/29.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

BFY Group's greenhouse gas emissions are principally associated with office energy use and business travel (internally and to client sites).  Our carbon reduction plan focuses on practical measures that address these emission sources while maintaining effective service delivery.

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed during the reporting year 2025/26:

• Began measuring and reporting on emissions, in line with our Net Zero ambitions

• Promoted hybrid working practices where possible, to reduce unnecessary travel, while supporting effective collaboration

• Approved our Energy and Carbon Management policy

We will publish ongoing performance against the reduction targets set out above, and progress towards our overall Net Zero goal.  We plan to review our environmental policy annually.

Planned initiatives:

• Monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions annually to track progress against our baseline

• Where possible, increase the accuracy and/or granularity of estimations used in calculating our annual greenhouse gas emissions

• Reducing travel where appropriate through the continued use of virtual meetings and online collaboration tools

• Encouraging use of lower-carbon travel options where practical

• Seeking opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of our office premises

• Considering environmental performance within procurement decisions where appropriate, including the purchase of energy-efficient IT equipment and office supplies.

• Raising employee awareness of sustainable working practices and encouraging staff to take pro-active approach to identify opportunities to reduce emissions

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
