Sophie is a Consultant at BFY, helping clients to transform their business by identifying challenges, and partnering with them to realise potential efficiencies and optimisations.

Some of Sophie’s previous work includes:

  • Creation of a financial forecast model consisting of a P+L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow statement for the next 2 years, to determine whether the client required a higher deposit facility
  • Supported a central cost allocation exercise for a £1bn company, who experienced difficulties allocating their £36mil of internal overheads in a fair and accurate manner
  • Optimised a complex chart of accounts consisting of 55k+ codes down to 600, ensuring business needs and reporting requirements were met, whilst maintaining a simple and intuitive coding structure
  • Complete review and optimisation of a purchase to payment process, identifying quick wins and long term improvement opportunities, detailing the priority of each action
  • Project managing a workstream in a finance function transformation, reviewing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing new processes to allow for clear accountability and responsibility lines to run through the business

Sophie holds a 1st Class Masters degree and is an ACA qualified Accountant, with an International Order of Merit for achieving the 6th highest average mark internationally in her professional level examinations.

Sophie previously worked in the Management Consulting Team at Mazars, where she focused on finance transformation, strategy and commercial assurance.

Prior to this, she worked in audit, where she project managed audit delivery and completed Value for Money Assessments for clients. This involved providing recommendations to improve their controls, processes, and financial sustainability.
